My role: design and develop

Navigation Revamp

Background

The existing hamburger menu and browsing experience needed enhancement to better align with user habits and competitive standards.

Challenage

There were too many categories and subcategories in the existing hamburger menu, making it difficult for users to find what they were looking for.

Vision

By continuously collecting user feedback, click-through rates, and conversion rates, we aim to optimize product categorization.

Research and Inspiration

Conducted research on competitor websites to understand effective layouts. Evaluated the effectiveness of text versus icon representations for menu categories. Special section in different categories.

Key Points

Removed the total price from the shopping cart icon, recognizing that Newegg users typically do not purchase multiple items in one order.

Updated the menu to display two columns to accommodate the length of the hamburger menu and effectively present subcategories.

Combined the ideas and designed variations for wide and narrow screens to ensure optimal display across devices.
