The Yard Control App is a crucial component of the Yard Management System (YMS) designed to streamline and optimize yard operations.

The development of the Yard Control App was initiated to address the inefficiencies and bottlenecks commonly faced in yard management. Traditional yard management methods were manual, time-consuming, and prone to errors. The need for a digital solution that could automate and simplify yard operations was evident.
The Yard Control App provides significant value by enhancing operational efficiency, reducing wait times, improving accuracy in yard operations, and increasing overall productivity. The app ensures that yard operations are smooth, timely, and well-coordinated, leading to better resource utilization and cost savings.
As the lead designer, I was responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and overseeing the implementation of the Yard Control App. My responsibilities included user research, wireframing, prototyping, and ensuring the app's usability and functionality met the users' needs.
Challenge: Accommodates the large fingers of drivers and guards, who often use the app outdoors under direct sunlight.
Solution:

Challenge: The app had to be designed to function effectively on low-cost devices with limited hardware.
Solution: Optimized the app to run smoothly on low-cost devices by minimizing resource usage and implementing efficient coding practices.

Driver self-check-in, check-in/check-out by guards, 8-point container inspection, integration with the appointment system, and automatic spot/dock assignment.
